Spending controls
Open project Settings → Spending. Review the monthly usage and configured limit before changing on-demand spending.
Modes
| Mode | Behavior |

| Disabled | On-demand usage is disabled; exhausting the included allocation can pause service. |
| Fixed | On-demand spending is bounded by the configured monthly limit. |
| Unlimited | Removes that fixed on-demand limit; review the cost implications before selecting it. |
The service’s restriction message identifies the recovery action. A fixed-limit pause calls for reviewing the monthly limit. A disabled-on-demand pause calls for enabling an appropriate mode or waiting for the allocation reset. Manually paused projects are restored from General settings instead.
Confirm recovery
After the appropriate setting change, check the project’s restriction banner and retry a small authorized read. If writes remain blocked, distinguish a Free read-only restriction from a paused project. See project lifecycle.
These controls differ from AI credit auto-reload. Review both when diagnosing AI failures. A higher limit permits additional consumption; it does not fix a failing workflow or repeated request loop.
