Edit relationships

A relationship connects records. A Product can point to a Category rather than storing another copy of the category’s details. Your schema determines whether a relationship accepts one or many records.

Link an existing record

1. Open the parent record in Desk.
2. Find the relationship field and open its picker.
3. Search or select the intended target by its displayed label.
4. Save the parent record and reopen it to verify the link.

For multiple relationships, review all selected targets. Records with similar display labels can be difficult to distinguish; use additional context or inspect the target before linking it.

Edit a related record

Where the field provides related-record creation or editing, it can open a nested drawer. Save the related record through its own controls, return to the parent, then confirm and save the intended parent relationship. Do not assume closing the nested drawer commits every pending parent change.

Disconnect versus delete

Removing a selection disconnects the link through the relationship editor. Deleting the target acts on the record itself and may affect other links. Choose the action that matches your intent and read its confirmation.
