# File delivery

Use the asset’s absolute `url` to retrieve a non-image asset, for example `https://flexkit.io/files/abcdefghij/document.pdf`. `/files/<path>` streams original bytes and also accepts images when original image bytes are needed. It does not apply image transformation parameters.

PDFs display inline. Append `?download=1` to request an attachment. HTML and other executable document types are delivered as attachments. The filename comes from the storage key.

GET and HEAD requests support byte ranges and conditional requests. Responses preserve the file's content type. Missing files return 404; unavailable storage returns 502. A request to `/images` for a PDF or another non-image returns 415.

File delivery is public and separate from authenticated Studio editing. Copied URLs can be shared and cached; removing a Studio member does not invalidate them.
